David Fischer

I am an AI researcher leading the technical development of KATALYST (KI-Assistierte TrAnsformation von LernsYSTemen) — a funded initiative by the Stiftung Innovation in der Hochschullehre to modernize higher education through generative AI.

Building on my prior work in the HASKI project (adaptive, self-directed, AI-supported university teaching), KATALYST develops an open-source platform that addresses critical challenges in digital education: fragmented AI infrastructure, high maintenance overhead for learning materials, evolving assessment validity, and data protection concerns.
